Egain, pune interview

Egain is a product development company and they say they follow flat hierarchy system and they all just do lot of codding and you not restricted to work just one product. You may be pivoting across products. They say they hire mostly from IIT, NIT’s and bits. Since it’s a small company you will have lot of work to do though pay will be good then as compared to biggies. They have a hiring via nuakri.com and conduct aptitude and written test even if you are nine years of experience in field in  1hr 3o minutes then followed a technical discussion and if after test if they say you may have telephonic interview  , you can leave , they will call you , you know result

In java profile. They have section on JSP, JavaScript, Java aware, core java, and database

In core Java section, their focus was on string manipulation, collection 

In Jsp section, simple scriptlets/declaration etc and redirect/forward, page include etc

In JavaScript section , again string  concat behaviour in alert box and typeof function

In Java aware, basic like Jquery, hibernate, etc can answer if you ever read of this adv technologies

In aptitude section , there was comprehension , essay writing, deduce expression question

1. 1.     The number that is three time sum of its digits
2. 2.     Use /*+- and square  and  use four two digit number that result in 9
3. 3.     Max pieces when you cut a square in to four times

I reached late and  so here only i lost the opportunity but you wont in future,  be the first in queue and reach before time  as once  they select required number  after which they simply did formality of  selection process rejects  all at the last in queue. via tough questions, on the fly,  getting bag packed with all resumes by 4:30 pm

 lets talk about Technical/ Aptitude Test – 15mins/30mins objective type with 4 choices

Technical  test : From test itself you will come to know they looking for a thread to join their company  ..all thread question and some collections questions  total 15 question in 15 minutes  . Toughness level  : medium

Q: worker thread code given  and asked to  predict what will be output ?
Q: which of following implement sortedMap
Q:  given a collection map  being synchronized  code  and a method using that map and then asked  is the method thread safe or atomical
Q:  other thread based questions....

Aptitude test : Dont worry at all very easy RS agarwal example questions is enough

tech/apti test were conducted by PM and JA and for tech interviews PM and JA were only acting as spy agents  defending makemytrip from miscreants came for test

 Interview 2 :  after Interview 1,  JA said  "Go" a lip movement communication  so no Interview 2 for me

Hope you can prepare better via about experience and as no one like to be rejected   but <annex1> one more thing if you don't know any answer to any question dont say "you dont have correct answer for this" this  blows off  the interviewer and  straight away through one out <happened with 2 of us> just give them any crap answer
